I'm attempting to understand how accounts receivable is treated in an income statement. It seems counterintuitive, doesn't it? Is it exactly a cost or just a performance measure? I've heard conflicting opinions on its inclusion.

Absolutely! That's a really good question. My initial considered was that it's more of a *liability* - reflecting the money
